James Bowman III's Bio
Inspirational, uplifting,
and old school are just a few of the words that describe the music
ministry of James Bowman III.
Bowman, a product of
Christian parents, is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has
survived a tumultuous childhood and gone from being homeless to
acquiring a Master’s Degree. The intensity of his life experience is
felt through his soulful sounds.
James Bowman III is no
stranger to music. While attending college, he played drums and excess
percussion with several national and international recording artists.
Brian McKnight, A Special Blend, Virtue, Mervyn Warren (formerly of Take
6) and Erik Essix, are among the many artists with whom Bowman has
performed. He has also opened (on drums) for other artists such as
Tramaine Hawkins, Edwin Hawkins, Commissioned, Be Be and Ce Ce Winans,
Bobby Jones, Nicole C. Mullin, DC Talk, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Vicki
Winans, Kirk Franklin, Roland Gresham as well as a host of others.
What would compel such an
accomplished musician to delve into the realm of vocalization? Bowman’s
answer would be, “… a call from God to exercise other gifts He has given
to me.” This young man possesses a smooth delivery that reminds us of
crooners such as Nat King Cole while at the same time offering rhythmic
vibes reminiscent of Earth, Wind & Fire.
Bowman’s goals are to
continue to minister in song and deed and to serve the Lord Jesus
Christ.
